Makes: 16 pieces
Ingredients:
½ cup butter and extra for greasing pan
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup milk
¼ tsp vanilla
3¼ cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
½ cup chopped nuts (I really like pecans)
Instructions:
- Grease an 8-inch square pan and set aside.
- Place the butter in a 1-quart microwavable dish. Melt in the microwave.
- Add the brown sugar and mix well. Microwave for 2 minutes. It will be very hot so handle it carefully!
- Stir until it cools slightly and starts to thicken.
- Add the milk and vanilla and mix well.
- Add the powdered sugar and stir until well blended and there are no lumps.
- Mix in the nuts then spread into the prepared pan.
- Refrigerate for one hour before cutting into squares.
