Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tspbaking soda
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp almond extract
FROSTING:
- 1/2 cup butter cubed
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4-1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2-1 tsp almond extract
- 1 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 and grease a 15"x10" baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a bowl of a stand mixer mix together flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter and water and bring to to a boil until butter is melted then stir into flour mixture.
- Add in your eggs and sour cream and beat until combined.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 18-22 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly.
- Meanwhile to make frosting frosting, combine butter and milk in a large saucepan and bring just to a boil until butter is melted, remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and extract.
- Spread over cake and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
